With the recent success of the Ron Bouchard's Auto Stores 100 sponsored by Spafco and Jerico Tri-Track Open Modified Series race that took place on May 26, Claremont Speedway officials and the Racing Guys are excited to announce the proposed purse structure for the open Modified race scheduled for Saturday, August 18.
With a full field of the ground-pounders set at 26 cars, the winner of the 100-lap event will take home at least a $ 4,000 winner’s share which could increase to $ 5,000 if the winning driver previously competed in two of three Tri-Track Open Modified Series races prior to this event (Claremont-May 26, Seekonk-June 27, and Star-July 28.) $ 250 bonuses are also set for the runner-up and third place finisher under that same criteria.
The total proposed purse for the event is set at just under $ 30,000 with the top eight finishers taking home at least $ 1,000. Race teams will pocket $ 700 should they qualify for the event. Tri-Track Series rules will be used to maintain consistency from the earlier event.
Lap sponsorship is available at $ 25 each to be used towards the purse. If you are interested in sponsoring a lap, please contact speedway officials.
The R.E. Hinkley Super Streets, Pepsi Street Stocks, and T-Bird Mini Marts Wildcats will also be part of the race card that night as well. Past Claremont Speedway Modified champions will also be invited back and recognized for this special event.
Registration for the August 18 event is $100 and forms are available at www.claremontspeedway.net/modified. Claremont Speedway is also hosting an open Modified event on Saturday, September 8. The proposed purse for that event is still being finalized. Questions related to event registration and rules should be directed to speedway officials.
