GRAY, RIENDEAU AND CONROY WIN FRIDAY NIGHT AT CLAREMONT
CLAREMONT, N.H/ - Brandon Gray won for the second time in as many weeks Friday night at Claremont Motorsports Park, roaring to a dormant victory in the Tour Type Late Model main event.
And if the East Thetford, VT star was red hot in making it two-for-two on the young season, so was another Green Mountain state ace, as Chris Riendeau made a thrilling last lap pass to win the Super Street feature and run his undefeated 2026 streak to three.
Chambers, Dillingham, Hull, Kenny, St. Amour, there have been many Vermont drivers basking in Pure Stock victory lane in recent seasons at the Thrasher Road speedplant, and Sunshine Town second generation hot shoe Carter Conroy has been there too.
Friday,Conroy scored one for the Granite Staters. The Newport driver won one for the home staters, topping a blockbuster 16-car field in his 25-lap feature event to bring bragging rights back to New Hampshire.
Trevyr Young won for the second week in a row in Friday’s Ridge Runner feature, and Michael Casey was declared victorious in the SIx Shooters, his second win of the season. Alan Sieg, all 50 pounds of him, fresh off a day in second grade, topped a special 15-lap Rookie Champs Karting Series event.
Allen Fellows and Ryan Currier sat up front as the Tour Type Late Model 40-lapper went green, and it was Fellows, the elder statesman of the three-generation Fellows racing family, jumping all over the opening lead. But Brandon Gray, firing from row three, was charging forward like a heat-seeking missile.
Gray, the speedway’s 2025 Super Street champion, took charge on lap eleven and never looked back.Stephen Donahue, roughed up earlier in his qualifying race, was soon up to second but on this chilly Friday night had nothing for Gray,
With Gray running away and hiding to win with ease, Donahue won a close battle with Fellows to earn runner-up honors. Currier was fourth on the night, and Aaron Fellows Jr. rounded out the top five.
Joe Tetreault took the early lead in the RE HInkley Fuels Super Street feature, bringing Erik Smith to the front with him, with Robert Hagar quickly filling their mirrors as he began his charge to the front.
Hagar took command on lap nine, low-lining through turn two to take the lead with Chris Riendeau glued to his bumper while Tetreault held third. Hagar and Riendeau then raced glued together until Hagar opened the door ever so little with the white flag in the air and Riendeau sped under him
Riendeau won the drag race through the west end of the oval and darted off to his third win of the young season, With Hagar at his heels for second, Tetreault finished his strong night’s work in third, Daniel Petrowicz was fourth, and Smith fifth.
Ben Smith and Trevor Chamberlin battled for the early lead in Friday’s LaValley Building Supply Pure Stock main event, with Carter Conroy, from way back in row four, rocketing to the front quickly and taking the lead from Chamberlin on lap six.
Chris Chambers, his sights set squarely on scoring his third win of the season, blasted from 12th to claim second on lap 12 and the battle was on. The potent pair raced wheel-to-wheel, with Chambers inching ahead and then Conroy doing the same, back and forth.
Chambers wobbled on lap 20, with Gage Dillingham quickly taking second and then finishing at Conroy’s bumper in another thrilling Pure Stock finish. Chambers continued his strong season’s run in third, Chamberlain was fourth, and Jeremy Ruggeri came home fifth/
Trevyr Young hed never scored back-to-back feature wins. The White River Junction speedster has now checked that box and will be gunning for his third score next Friday in JP’s Trucking Ridge Runner racing.
Young won by four lengths over opening night winner Lane Lantas Friday, also winning his heat race. Ethan Meyette was Friday’s bronze medal winner.
In the Six Shooters, Michael Yeaton had the fastest car on the track Friday, but Michael Casey had the fastest one in the tech barn. With Casey awarded his second 2026 victory, former track champ Steve Miller Jr. moved up to second, and his dad, Steve Sr., was officially third. Heath Laware and David Bell rounded out the top five.
Alan Sieg, a student at the Montessori Magnet School in Albany, N.Y., won the show-opening Rookie Champs Karting Series 15-lapper. Landon Hinkley was second under the checkers, and Kelsey Laffin impressed in thrd.
The Outlaws are back in town next Friday, May 15, when the Outlaw Late Models lead a full card of NASCAR Local Racing Series presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts oval track action at CMP. Racing at New Hampshire’s fastest third mile begins at 7 p.m. every Friday
