GRAY, DONAHUE, POLAND AND ROBIE WIN FRIDAY AT CLAREMONT Claremont Motorsports Park Friday

GRAY, DONAHUE, POLAND AND ROBIE WIN FRIDAY AT CLAREMONT
Claremont Motorsports Park Friday, August 22, event story

CLAREMONT, N.H. Brandon Gray won Friday night’s 50-lap Super Street Summer Six Pack main event at Claremont Motorsports Park and, with points leader Cody Schoolcraft not in the house Friday, moved to the top of the divisional points parade as the 2025 season enters its stretch run.
Other winners at the 802 Credit Union Night seven-division event included Stephen Donahue, victorious for the second week in a row in the Tour Type Late Models, Ben Poland in the Outlaw LMs, and Brian Robie, who continued his march to the championship by romping in the 604 Modified feature.
Kyle Kenny continued his summer of success in the Pure Stocks, it was business as usual for Carlos Grenier in the Ridge Runners, and Michael Yeaton earned his second victory lap of the season in the Six Shooters.
Joe Tetreault took the early lead in the RE Hinkley Super Street main event. WIth both tri-tract Six Packs and CMP Weekly Racing Series points up for grabs, this one was hotly contested.
Gray, rocketing from the top groove, took the lead on lap seven and threatened to run away and hide, but the race’s only caution, on lap 21, brought Charlie Baldwin to his side and the race was on. Gray would hold strong to win by a handful of lengths, with Tetreault finishing his impressive night’s work behind Baldwin in third.
There were three cautions in the Tour Type Late Model 50-lapper. The last one probably cost Superman Aaron Fellows the win. Back from an earlier heat race looper, the Croydon star took the lead on the opening lap of the main event and set out on a mission.
A lap-28 brushup between Fellows and Brandon Gray sent the leader into a spin cycle and moved rocket man Stephen Donahue to the top spot, never a good sign for the rest of the field.
Donahue sailed off into the sunset to win for the second week in a row, and his fourth consecutive victory over two different tracks, with Fellows charging back through the field to finish second and stay atop the points parade. Gray was third under the checkers, with Matt Sonnhalter and Aaron Fellows Jr. completing the top five.
If there’s any way to stop Brian Robie in the Asetex Tire & Auto 604 Modifieds, no one has found it recently. Robie again scorched the field Friday, to advance his march to another CMP championship.
Taking the lead from Tyler Leary on lap three, he took off into a world all alone to win with ease. Leary was second on the night, Andrew Brousseau was third, fourth went to Jeremy Zullo, and Brian Chapin, making a rare CMP appearance, came home fifth.
The Outlaw Late Model main event looked to be a walk-away victory for ace Ben Poland. Rocketing to an easy win in his heat race, he looked to do the same in the feature. Chris RIendeau, though, had other plans.
Riendeau passed Steve Bly for second on lap 21, then reeled Poland in but couldn’t find a path to the front as the pair sailed under the checkers nose-to-tail. Bly finished his strong performance in third, and points leader Cam Curtis struggled through a lamentable night to come home sixth but still atop the points parade,
There was only one caution in the action packed Lavalley Building Supply Pure Stock feature and it did nothing to stop red hot Kyle Kenny, Coming from row three in the swarming 16-car field, the Real Deal took the lead from Sunshine Towner Carter Conroy on lap 23 and sped off to win by six lengths.
Conroy finished his strong night in second, with Bay State bomber Jimmy Zellman third, Andrea St. Amour - from way back in row six - fourth, and Chris Chambers fifth.
There were three different leaders in the Six Shooter feature, none more impressive than Michael Yeaton. The reigning Monadnock champion passed 2024 CMP king Steve Miller Sr. on lap 13 and never looked back en route to his second win of the summer at the Thrasher Road speedplant.
Miller and teammate Bradey Lamotte staged a great battle for runner-up honors, with Lamotte claiming the deuce spot on lap 20, and Miller holding strong for third, Raven Streeter and Garrett Barry rounded out the first five in the dozen-car field.
Carlos Grenier, back to prove a point in the JP’s Trucking RIdge Runner, put on a show in Friday night’s caution-free 20-lap main event. Taking the lead on lap seven, he blasted off to put another notch in his victory belt. Steady Trevyr Young was second, and Ron Burgess Jr. came home third.
Claremont Motorsports Park returns to action next Friday, August 29, with a full card of exciting NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series events. Post time each Friday at CMP is 7 p.m. Then Sunday Aug 31st the Modified Racing Series makes its 2nd of three appearances in 2025! Post time will be 6:00pm
